Meet Coach Elizabeth

After earning her college degree in Radio-TV-Film, Elizabeth Evans worked in production for the PBS show “Wishbone”.  She discovered dog agility in 1996 and two years later became a United States Dog Agility Association judge.  Elizabeth progressed to Masters level Supervisor but is now mostly retired from judging.

In 2000, Elizabeth opened an agility school in Texas called Best Friends Fun Farm, which operated successfully for 21+ years, with an indoor facility and outdoor training field, multiple instructors and many happy clients.  Selling the business in 2021 allowed the Evans’ family to fulfill their dream of moving to acreage in beautiful Middle Tennessee, which is closer to family.

Elizabeth has put many hundreds of titles on her dogs in various sports including agility, flyball, obedience, rally, tracking, herding, lure coursing, weight pulling, nosework and conformation.  Her Pyrenean Shepherd Hemi represented the United States in international competition multiple times as a member of the IFCS and EO teams.

Elizabeth's current dogs are (left to right):

PACH PDCH NATCH Andretti:  Portugese Podengo Pequeno (sighthound!), 15 yrs (retired)

ADCH MACH CT-ATCH Polka-Dot:  rescue Border Collie, 10 yrs

Beans (in training):  rescue mixed breed, 7 yrs

PDCH C-ATCH Giddy Marie:  Pyrenean Shepherd, 9 yrs

As an upscale portrait photographer, Elizabeth enjoys using her 26+ years of experience working with dogs to help her capture the personalities of her clients. She creates gallery-quality artwork for people to display on the walls of their homes.

Elizabeth cherishes the support of her husband of 29 years, JP. When not working as a location sound recordist in video production or playing drums, JP can be found riding his bicycle. In 2011, he completed the Tour Divide, a 2700+ mile unsupported bicycle race from Canada to Mexico!
