What is SpeedWay?

SpeedWay is a competitive dog sport offered by CPE.  I’d describe it as a combination of agility and flyball.  It uses low impact agility obstacles:  tunnels, barrels and hoops, which makes it great for young dogs that need ring experience and older dogs who still want to play.  It’s also amazing for competitive agility dogs who want to work on tight turns, accelerating out of turns, driving to obstacles, distance skills and more.  And like flyball, the pattern remains the same from trial to trial for most classes.  Like agility, there are different classes and strategies.

Pole Position
​Rds 1 & 2

This course consists of a start hoop, barrels and finish hoop.  If your dog takes a wrong course, fix it and as long as you are under time, you could still qualify!

Slingshot
Rds 1 & 2

This course includes hoops, tunnels and an optional distance challenge.  You can run right along with your dog for standard points or attempt distance to gain additional points.

This course includes hoops, tunnels and an optional distance challenge.  You can run right along with your dog for standard points or attempt distance to gain additional points.

This course consists of ALL tunnels.  If your dog takes a wrong course, fix it and as long as you are under time, you could still qualify!
